ENERGEIA BOOT CAMP'S 30 HEALTHY HABITS WEEK 2
Energeia Boot Camp's 30 Healthy Habits

HABIT #2
Eat Whole Foods

Eat Whole Foods

My Recommendations:
  • Whole foods are real foods including fruit, vegetables, whole grains, beans, nuts, seeds, grass fed meats, wild fish, pasture eggs and dairy. Whole foods are not processed or refined like bread, cereal, crackers, white rice, pasta, baked goods, frozen entrees, or anything packaged. They don’t have added ingredients. They come in their natural state.
  • Our ancestors didn’t eat ready-made meals with artificial preservatives and chemicals. Choose plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, all in a wide range of colors and in-season, herbs, seaweeds and sea vegetables, mushrooms, sprouted nuts and seeds, living yogurts and fermented vegetables, free range eggs and wild fish and game.
  • Eat from the 9 staple foods plan most of the time:
    1. Vegetables
    2. Fruits
    3. Grass fed meats
    4. Wild fish, like wild salmon
    5. Organic cage free eggs
    6. Nuts and seeds
    7. A small amount of whole grains and legumes
    8. A small amount of organic grass fed dairy (like kefir)
    9. Healthy fats including coconut oil, olive oil, grass fed butter, ghee and avocado oil.

HABIT #1  DRINK PLAIN FILTERED WATER

Drink Plain Filtered Water

My Recommendations:
  1. Drink plenty of plain filtered water
  2. Filter your water preferably using reverse osmosis
  3. Avoid plastic water bottles except during an emergency
  4. Carry a glass water bottle instead of plastic
  5. Request a water quality report from your local water purveyor at least once a year (some water companies include this report with the water bill annually)
  6. Supplement with mineral water on occasion
  7. Get your calories from food not non-nutritive liquids
  8. Avoid empty calories from soda, sports drinks and energy drinks
  9. Avoid diet drinks that contain artificial sweeteners
  10. Avoid excess calories from commercial fruit drinks, commercial juices, sweetened teas and coffees and sweetened waters
  11. Limit your alcohol consumption
  12. Raw, cold pressed coconut water, fresh pressed juices and homemade smoothies are highly nutritious and are healthier alternatives that can be substituted for non-nutritive liquids
